Quel Surprise! Sohm Photos Sneak into Utah Business Magazine

The December 2009 issue of Utah Business Magazine, at page 36, contains an article about local restaurants that exhibit local artists’ work. Apparently, the practice goes back to 19th Century Paris when impressionistic artist such as Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall contributed paintings to La Colombe D’Or in exchange for food.

The article describes how Lamb’s Grill Cafe continues the tradition by featuring monthly exhibits of local photographers and painters. The article is illustrated by a 1/3 page photo of Lamb’s restaurant with my “Mother & Son” exhibit on the wall including prominent pictures of my daughter-in-law Kristen and my grandson KC.

Unfortunately, the article does not mention my name but being compared with Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall, albeit anonymously, is pretty cool. Maybe, like Matisse and Chagall, the world is waiting for me to die before discovering my brilliance. Sohm, the new Chagall. Has a certain ring to it, n’est pas?
